As a habitat consultant, I create hunting property plans for landowners who are looking to improve their whitetail hunting through habitat manipulation, property improvements, and overall property layout.  Every hunting parcel is unique and every landowner has their own set of goals, so each plan is thoughtfully created with that specific criteria in mind.  Property access, terrain features, existing habitat, and hunting goals are all taken into consideration which allows for a hunting design that is specific for you!

My habitat design journey started about fifteen years ago with a simple dream of owning a piece of hunting property.  Like so many others, I work a regular 9 to 5 job so putting money aside and paying off debts was a slow process, but I held out hope that I could one day turn my dream into a reality.  It was during those waiting years where I really developed a passion for habitat and land ownership by joining online hunting forums, listening to various habitat and hunting podcasts, and searching MLS listings.  I learned a great deal about topography, hunting strategies, online mapping, property ownership and access, wind direction/thermals, and even plant identification.  I wanted to use the knowledge I was gaining to create a list of landowner criteria that would ultimately help me decide on the “right” property.  I started designing hunting/habitat plans for some of the online listings in order to find weak spots and then eliminate the properties that would not help me meet my goals.  In 2018 I was finally able to close on a property and make my dream of land ownership come true.  I began implementing the strategies that I had learned and over time my deer sightings and camera activity increased, daytime movement picked up, and mature buck encounters increased as well.  As my skills improved and my confidence grew, I even began offering property suggestions to others which were met with positive feedback.  I knew then that my passion for habitat work and whitetail hunting would lead me down a path of helping other small property owners realize their dreams and hopefully come to find the same satisfaction that I have come to know.
